A Bit About Me:
I'm a Mexican-American writer, editor, artist, and environmentalist with the goal of facilitating user-centered communication through collaboration with other subject matter experts, as well as developing an editorial relationship with other writers. I have a degree in English with a minor in Technical Writing and Professional Design. I am open to new opportunities that will assist me in both making people's lives easier and helping share other people's stories with the world.

Personal Statement
I am pursuing a degree in English because I want to help other people become better writers. My goal is to function like a bridge that facilitates good communicational experiences between authors and their audiences. Specifically, I want to do this as a copyeditor who collaborates with writers and connects communities through their voices. My experience in learning and acquiring English as a second language will enable me to have compassion as a copyeditor and build authorial and editorial relationships. I want to use my experiences and acquired knowledge to encourage creativity and provide the world with more enlightenment.
Minoring in technical writing has ensured that I gain knowledge in user-centered writing and making good revisions, all of which will prepare me for my career in copyediting. I have taken crucial courses to my success, such as Tutoring Writing, Technical Editing, Professional Practice in Technical Communication, and many more. Each carefully and deliberately picked with my goal in mind. I have volunteered at over 20 book launch parties / author signing events, as well as worked behind the scenes to produce the North Texas Teen Book Festival (NTTBF). My schedule often includes creative writing workshops, special lectures, Writing Center appointments, and I also work as a library assistant. Most recently, I have been elected as the Vice President for the Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society’s Mu Theta chapter. My dedication and persistence functions to encourage me to keep challenging myself to follow my dreams. This has all allowed me to build connections with professionals in the industry and build the skills and experience necessary to make a positive impact on the publishing industry.
